Achievement Whore

I confess, I'm an Achievement Whore. Whatever game I might be playing, if it has achievements I stuck forever trying to make sure I get them all. This goes from Xbox 360 games to Farmville on Facebook, yeah you know what I'm talking about.

Anyone else out there who can relate?

Anyways. I bought Fable II Pub Games some time ago, probably like almost a year ago but not quite, I know this because I had purchased Fable II, before I actually bought Pub Games. Anyway, when and how I bought it is besides the point. The point is that this game has ridiculously difficult achievements to get. Not all of them, but some.

Take for instance "I Want It All", pictured below.

"Earn all 15 unique items"

The requirements for this one doesn't really sound that difficult, and in itself it isn't. However, when you factor in that there are 5 tournaments per game type (3) you have to win in (getting within the top five seems to be enough) to unlock an item. You can pretty much calculate that 15 "wins" equals 15 items, and then your set.

Enter the dreaded "Spinnerbox" game. This is purely based on luck, and nothing else. If you google it, and look in forums where people have discussed various strategies for this game. Don't believe a word they say. It's all about luck, and there is not a bleeding cows anus in hell that you can affect the outcome. You wanna win 5 tournaments of this annoying piece of shit game? Then get prepared for some button-mashing, because that is the only thing that you can do. And be prepared to do a lot of it.

I honestly hate this game. I really do.

From one thing to another though, or well... not actually another thing, more like a continuum of where things have been so far. I am also enjoying Assassin's Creed at the moment. Yeah I bought this like some years ago too, but I just got stuck at a certain point in the game and couldn't muster myself to get past it. Until I picked the game up again that is. Now I'm busy busy busy as a bee trying to find all the 'effin flags in this 'effin game. Don't get me wrong, I like this game. The cheer pleasure of jumping from rooftop to rooftop only to drop down on an unsuspecting target, stab him in the throat and then be gone so quickly that no one has any time to react. It's a thrill.

But hunting for flags for no other reason than to get an achievement, you're lucky I'm such a whore for achievements.

I'll leave you with this wonderfully juvenile rhyme I just made up.

Runny runny
Jumpy jumpy
Stabby stabby
Likey likey.

Endy endy.

Fucking with blue teeth

My bluetooth is not working and therefore I am unable to upload the picture of me cupping the balls of a prehistoric mammoth.. Yes it's random, don't ask. But as long as my bluetooth dongle keeps acting up and almost installing all the drivers needed you'll just have to make do with this instead. It's safe to bet that it's equally random as the picture of me would've been. If I do manage to get the bluetooth working I'll be sure to upload the picture.

Speaking of that, yesterday I tried to get a hold of the live video of my performance. Had to install Premier and whatnot, so it's probably going to take until next week before I am able to upload them. It's 3 original songs and a cover of The Motorhomes - Into The Night. Clicky clicky if you wanna see the original version on youtube.com.

But enough about that for now, here's the substitute for the lack of mammoth pictures.

I present you with Charlie the Unicorn, a bizarre creation from the wonderfully random mind of TypeQueen

Progress, it's like going forward without moving...

Progress, it's like going forward without moving... yes thou may quote-eth me-eth.. :)

Anyway, despite the storm currently roaring around, there are some possibly good or potentially awesome news as well. And for reasons I won't go into I'll just go with the good stuff this time.

Today I have been interviewed on live radio. Enjoy the link, or well don't depending on your mood..

Today I also managed to get myself and interview for our local newspaper Vasabladet, so look forward to an article about my board game in the not so distant future..

Continued the last paragraph I also managed to contact a major international board games publisher, they actually seems interested by my prototype and here's hoping it will turn into something more. Of course the odds are quite against me as they have apparently in the last 4 years only accepted 2 board games from outside developers. But one can always hope for the best and prepare for a "thank you, but no thank you." If nothing else I am going to make damn sure I get some feedback to improve from. Feedback is always a good thing, unless of course you get booed of stage by people screaming that you suck. That sort of feedback might not be so good.

But I've begun to work on a presentational package I can send, so besides that, here's doing the only other thing I can do. Hope.

Regression, it's like going backwards without moving. And no, thou may-eth not quote-eth me-eth.. :P

As the red leaves slowly die

... don't get me wrong (or do, it's not like I can stop you) I like autumn, I really do but at the same time it's a very depressing season for me because I really really hate winter. Besides the occasional Christmas that isn't a total rip-off there is nothing nice about winter...

No wait, I just remembered one thing I do like about winter. -25 degrees Celsius outside, large fluffy snowflakes dancing down down on the streets lit with dim street lights. And being able to sit inside with Love Actually (yes I like that movie so sue me... on the other hand, please don't sue me), a nice clean-smelling blanket and a warm cup of coffee or coco.

Okay, so maybe winter isn't all that bad, but there's still seasons I prefer more.

But from one thing to another, my board game is shaping up nicer and nicer. Yesterday I began using a potential exterior test group. Many thanks to Nonne at Indigo, Folkhälsan for letting me have my board game at their youth café, I'm very curious to see how it pans out, especially wether the rules are comprensable or not. I've never writted board game rules before and when I began it dawned on the that it is much for difficult than I at first anticipated. Well actually I have written rules once before, but that was for a Senet replica I made, and that was easier as I just used rules suggested by Timothy Kendall and R.C. Bell and mixed into something I thought was a nice mix of both of their suggestions. Here's by the way a few promotional photos I took of my replica.

I have the rules somewhere as a .pdf file but alas I am unable to find the at the moment so you'll just have to make do with these photos. But I think that's all for now. Enjoy!

Random undead cowboy

Let's call him Jack.. I have tendency to name things Jack, ask some of my friends and they'll agree with me. Anyway, I don't really feel like posting a really long explanation or anything, this is just a random experiment I did in Photoshop, trying out the Wacom Graphire4 XL that I purchased years ago and to this day haven't used nearly as much as I thought I would.. but mark my words.. one day I will.. The original is about 2560 x 2560 pixels large @ 300 dpi, this is of course the tiny-I-shrank-it-for-web-use-sized one.. Feel free to click it for a larger version (i.e. larger than what your watching right now..)

Enjoy!

Things to do whilst I'm still alive

Things to do whilst I'm still alive, the revised list.. or something of similar nature. I already had a list before, don't really remember where but it's gone now so I am making a revision.

This new revision will be an unnumbered list, I didn't quite like the fact that numbering the list made it feel like there was a set of priorities..

  • Write & publish a book (first chapter kinda done, the rest of the story is in my head)
  • Write & record an album ( ~4 songs done, that I feel quite content with)
  • Build a relationship with my father (managed to try a little, then he died)
  • Make, but not necessarily star in a porn movie (new to the list, feels like a fun idea)
  • Have a threesome (devil's threesome doesn't count)
  • Paint a nude portait (I suck at portraits so this would be a challenge)
  • Master two new languages (Already know three, so none of those count towards this)

This list will grow as I remember more of the things I had on there earlier. But this is all for now...

Performing and having a cold.

Performing and having a cold really don't mix well... or do they? The reception for my performance seemed quite nice considering I'm suffering from a cold.. or the flu. I really can't be quite certain yet, but I'm guessing it's a cold mainly because it's passing quite quickly... then again, I don't actually know if colds do that. Anyway, enough about my runny nose.

But stepping away from sore throats and runny noses back to this years Night of the Arts (Konstens Natt/Taiteiden Yö). Dare I say that this year feels and for all accounts felt like the best one so far, from the mood in the morning when everyone was preparing for the evening and chipping in where needed, to the night itself when all chaos broke loose every now and then... but in a good way. One word describes this night.

Awesome.

Will upload pictures when and if I get any. Don't hold your breath though I might just as well forget it too. :)

Lady of the lake, yes I'm looking at you! You missed one hell of a performance, not just from me, but from two other very talented girls (who's names I would gladly publish right here, but I won't as I haven't asked them). I guess you'll just have to by the DVD instead... :)

I'll leave you with these parting words, yes I'm quoting myself but that's irrelevant.
"If I can't fix it, it ain't broken"
