A Matter Of Subjective Importance

Let's get the important to me — but useless information to you — out of the way first; Coheed and Cambria's conclusion, The Afterman: Descension,  to the double albums Ascension / Descension has finally been released. It came out last Tuesday and it's super-fucking awesome! If I was wearing a hat I would lift it, pure awesomeness boys and one of the few albums where every song is pure win!

There. Now I'm done with that. I'm going to keep listening to their album on repeat for quite some time, because why frankly… it's that awesome. Check out my "This Is My Jam" profile and listen to Gravity's Union to hear what I mean. Oh [deity] that sounds horribly self-promotional. What could I do to counteract it. Nah, you know what, don't check out my current jam if you don't feel like it. Do listen to the song though. It's awesome. Here's a Youtube link if you don't believe me.

Now I'm actually done "promoting" this. Join me after the jump and read more about, well… other stuff too. Like coffee roasting and web design.

A few weeks ago I bought my first bag of green coffee. 2 kg of magical self-reliance. No longer would my taste buds be shackled by an assortment of fresh–not so fresh coffee beans. I can roast my own. So, how's that been working out so far. As expected I suppose — not to sound too anticlimactic about it — the first batch I did was complete crap because, well… I had no idea what I was doing. Obviously. But by the second batch of 200g — that how much I roast at a time — I was already noticing a considerable improvement in the equilibrium of the roast. And of course, it's pretty awesome to drink beans that I have roasted myself. I will write a more detailed post about all of this once I finally feel like I have something more conclusive to say. I don't. Not yet at least.

I've been jumping between working hard and hardly working on both the rebranding/revising of my portfolio website and although it's going incredible slowly, it is actually going pretty well. You don't rush a masterpiece and some of the things I want to design/develop has — to my knowledge — never been done before either so it's not like I have a lot of references to observe.

Wow, I really oversold it there, didn't I? Oh well. Better live up to it then.

I've also tried to pick up steam for the rebuilding of weplaynhl.com. Short explanation is this; It's difficult to stay excited about it without Mr. Cruise. He was always and will always be as much the heart and soul of it, despite never actually doing any practical designing or coding. I really want to rebuild it, because the plans we've discussed are awesome and put other gaming statistics websites to shame but at the same time I'm finding it difficult to keep the metaphorical fire burning without our beer sessions. So there. Realistically speaking though it's very far from launch ready but I am going to try to get the yet-to-named beta version of weplaynhl.com up and running. I not going to to write the actual here because it won't be open to the public anyway.

What else?

This picture is only here to please my wife, don't ask.

It's been 140 days — or 20 weeks if that's more your thing — since I had my last/most recent smoke. But that's feel hardly worth mentioning any more… unless I start smoking again I suppose but I have no immediate plans of that.

I haven't had a hair cut in over six months and it's so long that in fact, I do need one. But rather than complain — any more — about it I am just going to get it cut.

We baked delicious Salty Caramel Brownies yesterday and have eaten them all already so I suppose I'm going to have to bake some more of those. Double Up on the brownie batter though as the missus suggested.

Bye for now. Here's another Coheed and Cambria song, their new single(?) "Dark Side Of Me" with a video to match.
